Shatta Wale will not file for 2017 Ghana Music Awards

Dancehall Artiste Shatta Wale will not file for the Ghana Music Awards 2017 can confirm.

A source close to the management team of the African Dancehall told Enewsgh.

He released several hit like Hol’it,Kpuu kpaa, Baby(Chop Kiss), Bie Gya,Obordorbidi among other Chat topping songs.


The PRO of Charter House George Quaye in an interview with Accra FM last year prior to the Awards told the host DJ Premiere that ” Charterhouse has never had any intentions of excluding Shatta Wale, who claims he released about 90 songs in 2015, from the award ceremony, but the his behaviour leaves them with no choice.

“We never said anywhere that we will not nominate him, but the artiste said we should not nominate him, so, why are you forcing us to nominate him?” he asked, again.

Shatta Wale and his management last year started a process to reconcile with the Organisers but attempts to finalize the reconciliatory process failed since Organisers of the Awards (Charter House) on several occasions failed to honour the invitation.

The 2016 Artiste of the Year Ghana Music Awards UK has since taken off the VGMA Artiste of the year from his bio on twitter

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., known by his stage name Shatta Wale (formerly Bandana), is a Ghanaian born reggae-dancehall musician born on the 17th of October, 1984 to Charles Mensah Snr and Mama Elsie. He is best known for “Dancehall King”. He won Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.
